Developing the best possible educational event in a retail store involves dedication and cooperation between both the educator and retailer. The Industry Liaison Committee’s goal is to provide the tools and timelines for hosting a successful education event that will motivate, encourage and teach consumers how to successfully use sewing products as well as showcase machines, machine accessories, sewing software, notions and books.

Hosting a successful educational event will create additional sales, lend credibility to the store as the community sewing expert, develop customer satisfaction, attract new customers and increase store traffic.

With best practices and guidelines in place, the Industry Liaison Committee will work through 2006 in developing additional ways in which the sewing retailer and sewing educator can better communicate and make meaningful connections.
